AHIP, Certs, and Contracts
It’s that time of the year again, what we affectionately call the “Annual Contracting Period” or “ACP”. It’s the time where all the carrier certifications come out, the new carriers entering the market begin to announce their arrival, and AHIP becomes available.

As certifications become available, we’ll send you an email with the instructions to complete your certification if that is a contract you hold through AgencyRM.

Last, but not least, AHIP is now available.
There are multiple different discount programs for AHIP out there. Some carriers will reimburse you for your AHIP if you write a certain amount of their product, others will pay for it the following year. Typically AHIP is $175, but you should never pay that. The MOST you should pay is $125 as there are many sources to get a $50 discount. The easiest way to do this is to purchase your AHIP course through one of the major carriers; Humana, Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, etc. Some carriers require you to wait until THEIR certification is released before you can access AHIP through them.
If you think you’re going to write a fair bit of a particular carrier’s MA plan, we recommend buying your AHIP through them as it will likely lead to an AHIP reimbursement after AEP or for the following year.
